Just over a week away from the wedding now. Things are really coming together. Don's ring came in the mail today and I hope this new one fits. I have been in touch frequently with my sis and parents getting the last few things worked out...feeding people, meeting places and tentative plans. The weather has turned again and it is a sunny day today. I do hope that, even if it gets rainy again, it will be sunny and wonderful again for the wedding and surrounding time.
Today was my day off and I took a "moonlodge" day. I did some light house chores and laundry, but mostly just took it easy. I read my book, watched some tv, napped and just generally let the day go by. I work tomorrow and the weekend, but I know it will not be a tough one. Then two days of work next week and then off for house prep prior to people getting into town and getting the last few things taken care of prior to the wedding.
For holidays this past year, Don gave me a bird bath. At first no birds were using it, they just didn't even seem to want to land on it to even see what it was. Now with the weather turning nicer, they are actually drinking out of it. Don is a little sad that no one is actually bathing in it yet, but I think they will once it gets more summery. It is really nice to look out and see the little goldfinches and jays and all the other little birds drinking and hanging out. I am very much looking forward to the sunny summer weather.

Two Weeks
As of today we have two weeks until the wedding. We are marking off the last few things on the list...marriage license, Don's ring...and tomorrow we will get the suit marked off. We went there today, but there were a ton of kids getting set up for proms and the guy was really busy so he agreed to meet up with us tomorrow for a meeting when there won't be anyone else there. Now all that is left is to make my list of things we cannot forget to bring to the venue, so nothing gets left. My stockings that I had ordered did arrive, but did not fit, so I got another pair today that fit wonderfully! I am very excited for the rest of my "foundations" to arrive. Now we can sit back and coast until the day gets here.
I heard from a really old friend through my parents today and as it turns out he and his wife and baby son will be in the area for the wedding! I am so excited to see him again and to meet his little son. It is so strange sometimes how the world works.
We planted a tree this afternoon and Don is working on building another little wall in the yard. It sure looks nice and I am excited for the tree to grow big. It will be really beautiful where it is, even after we build our fence.
I am off to make some supper before too long now, we are having home made chili and baked potatoes. YUM!

Tardy Posting
I can not even remember everything that has happened since I last posted. It has been super busy at my work and we have been working on getting the last few things checked off the list. This past weekend was Don's stag do and my little hen night. Don and his buddies headed out to a Mc's property with a hotel and several bars and a golf course on Saturday morning and spent the night there. I slept in and spent the day with my friend A and then met up with some other girls in the evening for dinner and drinks. We had a really fun time. I know the guys did too as they were really hung over the next morning. Work this week has been pretty tough, we lost a really old patient on Monday and I was just having a really hard time coping. I think that the stress of getting the final things ready for the wedding is starting to work on me a little. On top of that, Don is sick too. At least he is sick now and not at the wedding time. He made an appointment to go and get his clothes stuff taken care of (I am going with him, but since he is sick right now he is sort of grumpy and blah about it) and and we got his ring ordered too. Now we just have to get ourselves over to the county clerks office for the marriage licence. Tomorrow I have the day off and am getting my hair cut for the last time before the wedding. Hopefully it will behave for the actual day. I know there is more to post, I am just tired and can not think of anything more worth sharing right now. Off to bed for me.

Stress Building
This week at work has been extremely busy. Just in time for the layoff leaving us two people working most of the week. I am feeling stressed and took my day off today to recover. I took it pretty easy, doing house chores and running a few errands. Don has just arrived home and supper is just about done...off I go.

Final Counting Day, Road Trip, Final Fit and a Layoff
Friday was a special day. Ever since Don and I met, we have a special day each month on the 10th...a counting day...when we celebrate being together. Some days it was a big deal, like on year milestones, other days just a nice way to acknowledge each other. Friday was our last counting day before the wedding...after that it will be a different day and we can call it an anniversary! To celebrate we went to Mc's for supper and just had a nice night out together. It was a nice way to celebrate another milestone and sort of strange to think the wedding is getting so close!
On Saturday we took a long trip to Washington to look at a project car Don was thinking of buying. It was a 5 hour drive one way, but it was very nice to get to see a different part of the country. It really reminded me of Colorado. We did not end up getting the car, Don was not blown away, and while the price was ok, he thinks we can find something better. It turned out to be a nice day, and we enjoyed spending time together, having time to talk and just be together. It was a long day with all the driving, but we had a good time.
Sunday my parents did a marathon drive to bring up the final fitting bodice of my dress. Talk about great family!! They arrived just as we started having computer trouble, so Da dove in head first on that (thanks Da!!!) while Mom and I got the fitting done. I am so excited about my dress, I love it and the fit changes that we made are PERFECT! We cooked up some delicious salmon and rice and had a wonderful lunch visit. Before too long they had to head back home, but it was so nice to see them and very much appreciated! We had a very lazy rest of the day and just enjoyed hanging out together.
Today was a sort of busy day at work. Things went well, but there was an undercurrent of tension left over from Friday. Midway through the day Friday one of our workers was sent home and no one really knew why or what was going on. At an after hours staff meeting tonight we found out that that person was "laid off". I asked the obvious question, if there was an issue that the rest of us needed to be concerned about and our manager said absolutely not. So I am not exactly sure what the whole deal is/was but I figure it is really none of my business. At this point I am trusting my manager and am willing to tough it out. I will have a little bit of a wacky schedule for the next two weeks, but then things will go back to normal. We will see what happens.
Now I need to get a move on some supper so I can head to bed before too late, I will have early days from now on.

30 Days
We are officially in the home stretch. Today is 30 days until the wedding. We met up with our contact at Mc's and got our final count, menu, bar stuff, time table, and room set-up taken care of. It has really been pretty pain and hassle free (except for the paying part...so says Don) and we have really enjoyed working with the people at Mc's. I also went to the bead store today and got what I needed for my jewelry. I made earrings and a necklace today and I really like them. I think they will go well with the dress, plus they are made by me and super unique. I am feeling good about the wedding, we are pretty much just on cruise control right now, mostly things are all taken care of and we can relax until the day. The three things still left on the list are the marriage licence, Don's clothes, and Don's ring. The marriage licence is not a difficult task, now that it is 30 days, we can go get it anytime. I can make a few calls for Don's clothes, but he really needs to make the call on the ring. He wants to have one made by a friend of his, and he has some ideas about what he wants. I keep trying to be a gentle reminder rather than a nag. It looks like we will be taking a road trip to Wa. on Saturday to look at a car that Don may buy. It is an old VW that we could work on together to restore. I think it would be a great project, we will see what happens. After being out for the meeting and running around, I came home and took a nap. It was nice to be able to sleep in a little this morning and get a nap this afternoon. I am still feeling just very tired. I hope that work goes smoothly tomorrow and I can have a relaxed night tomorrow.
